I'm bad luck baby, you know. Follows me around everywhere I go. Making his way back to the mansion, Elijah was more than a little annoyed. Not only had his siblings been responsible for driving Hayley away, they also appeared to be showing little remorse for their actions. How many times had he told them that family came first? And like it or not, Hayley was family, and was in serious trouble. The curse had to be lifted and it seemed he was the only one taking the steps necessary to see that happen. Of course he couldn’t enter Mystic Falls, but he could at least start piecing together a plan to draw Katherine out. She was, after all, the one responsible for all of this chaos and he was almost certain she’d be revelling in the fact there were some cracks already forming in the Mikaelson’s ranks.
Feet carrying him slowly through the courtyard, he entered the dining room on the far side, unsurprised that Niklaus appeared to be the only one hovering around in the late hour. The rest no doubt out and up to no good, at least his half brother could be reliable in his plotting. He most always done it from home until it was time to make a more serious move.
Eyes fixed on the cupboard across the room, Elijah pulled down two glasses, fingers surprisingly gentle as he laid them side by side on the dark wood before making another grab for the bottle of scotch, pouring them both a generous measure. “You do realise this is exactly what Katherine is wanting, dear brother?” he hummed, finally breaking the long silence. “To cause tensions here. To have us at each other’s throats?”
Crossing the room, he placed a glass gently in front of Klaus, eyes meeting his for the first time as he slid into a chair opposite, drawing in a steadying breath. “Driving Hayley away is a mistake, Niklaus. I understand, we know little about this curse that shadows her, but I’d implore you to cast your memory back to how many times the rest of us have been hexed. We stuck together through them all. We fought for each other, we need to do the same now. Hayley is a Mikaelson now, she’s family. We can’t start sending away those of us that may be a danger. It’ll only make us an easier target if Katherine and her army of the dead decided to attack us. Surely you can see that?”

"IT SEEMS YOU PEOPLE RESPOND BEST TO DISPLAYS OF VIOLENCE" The courtyard seemed the best place to be at the time. It had been just shortly hours into the middle of the night that Klaus had decided to hover around letting his thoughts persuade him into restlessness. The seriousness in the words that had been exchanged were brutal, but part of his heart still felt for both the mother of his child and his main concern at the moment, Hope. The flashbacks of when she was a baby, the letter he left her, the heartache of being absent in her life for so long had plagued the hybrid from everything that he wanted. It was a disease with all the ruckus that was happening around him. Camille was back, Marcel hated him, Caroline had his daughter, and once more the hybrid was misunderstood, simply because of how he liked to handle things. Could he really be blamed? Almost, nearly 99 percent of his plans always went through. Even if it was pure force or uncaring and misguided deaths, it worked and it’s all he knew and wanted. A plot to bring back his family.
His feet lightly paced around the courtyard wondering who else would attempt to return from the other side, meanwhile alternating flashbacks of the photos he had seen of Hope. Her long hair that alternated in style like her mothers, her happy smile with her friends and Caroline’s daughter’s and the life that he had missed in an album that he returned. He wanted to keep it but he knew he’d get it or at least a copy if he asked Caroline nicely. His ears picked up on some footsteps with glasses clanking. He took one quick look to see his brother and returned to his pondering thoughts after greeting his brother “Elijah” while he poured scotch. He already knew somewhat what was coming. Once the silence was broken he turned towards Elijah respectfully as he crossed the room and placed a glass in front of Klaus. He took the glass to hold while his brother slid into a chair to simply lecture and scold him about what he had been doing. He had heard enough ‘what to do’s’ in the last few days he could go on a spree with the anger building. He was not one to be told what to do, but he was sure Elijah knew him better than that and so he let him speak.
Taking a sip from the scotch that had been poured into the glass, he simply inhaled and exhaled in a calm way as he listened to his brother’s opinionated inquiry’s. “Well brother, if I were to not have realized this, don’t you think she would have sent the undead to attempt murder on the more undead?” he sarcastically remarked before taking yet another sip. “Need I remind you that the woman you swoon for has very little taste in decision making. Hell, for other’s that suffer a greater deal get a slap on the wrist but I, I get the scolding lectures in which are consistently wrong and psychotic” he said with raised tone, taking the glass to the counter and slamming it down enough not to break and walking away from it. He’d pace a bit more in silence knowing there was more to this than that. He had every burning vein itching to tell him off about how he did not send her away or mean to threaten her, but it was his way of being protective. Not to mention the romance the two had was weighing on him, to him it seemed as if it were Hayley and Elijah against him. And that wasn’t at all the case.

I'm bad luck baby, you know. Follows me around everywhere I go. Elijah had attempted to be careful in his approach to his brother, though it didn’t matter how softly he tred, it was always dependant on his brother’s mood to how his words would be taken, and of course anger was at the forefront of it all. His daughter was once again being raised away from him and Elijah knew fine the toll it took on Klaus, even if his brother refused to let the emotions that boiled in him show, the absence of Hope struck him just as raw as it did Hayley.
Elijah drew in a deep breath, allowing his brother to get out his frustrations fully, not daring to interrupt, knowing that it would do little but have the situation escalate further than he wished it to. He disliked fighting with Klaus, though no one would be the wiser of the fact, given their squabbles tended to be as frequent as the day was to dawn. Glass lifting to his lips, he took a generous sip before placing it back down against the table delicately, eyes lifting to his brother, his jibe towards his romance with Hayley sliding off his shoulders, knowing he was just attempting to lash out.
“Brother, I did not sit here with you in an attempt to attack you. I’m simply stating a fact, one I will share with our siblings whenever they next feel the need to make an appearance. Feelings put aside, Niklaus, if you thought the situation through more rationally, you’d see the decision she made was an entirely understandable one. You know Caroline Forbes better than anyone here, you know how selfless and caring she is, factors that only heightened when she was introduced to vampirism, and only continue to grow now she is a mother herself. I know the girl only a fraction as well as you, and even I know that Hope will be safe with her. She will protect her, and though she may not be as capable as you are at the task, she is still a great choice.”
His voice remained calm as he attempted to reason with his brother, to ease the anger that was so quick to rise in the hybrid. “I am not scolding you, but this is a lecture, I suppose. Katherine will revel in the fact that this curse she has placed on Hayley has already begun to split the family apart. We need to bring her back here, no matter how unpredictable that curse may appear. I have an idea on what Katherine wants and I’m going to attempt to draw her out of Mystic Falls for a meeting if she hasn’t already come up with a similar plan herself. And when I do, I’ll do anything I can to get this curse lifted and then Hope can back home. Your fight with her and Freya’s constant disapproval of sending Hope away makes her feel unwelcome so both need to stop. We should all be together, and putting our efforts into stopping whatever tear in hell Katherine has opened. Please don’t be angry with me, Niklaus, please just think about what I’m saying. This isn’t an attack, it’s me trying to reach peace among us all so we can move forward and stop the chaos that’s been dumped on our doorstep.”
