Hope Mikaelson, or rather the miracle child born of an original hybrid and a werewolf, was born sixteen years ago after a one-night stand. It was unknown at the time how this mistake brought such a impossible thing into the world, how a baby could be grow in the belly of a werewolf, known as Hayley Marshall, from the father of an infertile man, known as Niklaus Mikaelson. For the nine months that Hope grew and developed within her mother’s womb, she was protected by her family and hunted by those that didn’t understand her. She was even almost murdered by her own mother, who found herself unable to terminate the pregnancy and instead protected her. As the months drew to a close, there were many more attempts on the unborn child’s life. And then, when she was born, she was almost used in the Harvest.
Her birth was nothing memorable, as she was ripped from her mother within St. Anne’s Church, taken by Genevieve who killed her mother and immobilized her father. However, before Hope could be used for the Harvest, she was saved by her uncle Elijah before a battle begins. This battle, and all the attempts on her life because she was born a Mikaelson, Hope was sent away to be hidden and be faked as dead. Raised for a few months by her Aunt Rebekah, she was raised on the stories of her parents outside of New Orleans. However, this time with her aunt didn’t last long before she was returned to her mother and father. Though, during her younger years, her magic began to show in small ways possible, protecting herself and those around her. Her magic, to other witches, showed the potential of a powerful Mikaelson witch once she grew into them and learned to hone them.
It wasn’t long into her life, still a young baby, that Hayley shipped Hope to be with Caroline, to hide her from those that wanted to harm her. Raised by the other woman, Hope knew herself to have two mothers and two sisters. Now, at the age of sixteen, Hope prays that she’ll finally met the family that she’s heard stories of, hopes that one day she will get to know the father that she has.
