Throughout her whole life Hayley had felt transparent. Left by her birth parents in front of an orphanage institute in Florida when she was only four years old, she was taken in by the foster care program although that wasn’t enough for the girl to consider her life miserable. Her parents took well care of her by making sure nothing would ever fail to their baby daughter – their only child. She attended the best schools in the state, joined the best and most expensive programs, and wore the best clothes. It all seemedd to be too good to be true. It wasn’t only until her seventh birthday that the brunette learned about her true identity. It was late at night after trying to sleep that she heard her parents discussing in the living room. She managed to crawl her way under the main table and hid there until it was over. For some reason Hayley never really liked when her parents argued; something she guessed to be part of the fear of them ever asking for a divorce. That became one of the most haunting nights for her – her transformation night in the lead – she overheard what she shouldn’t have and soon enough was able to put the pieces together. From that day forward she kept silent about what she knew, Hayley rebelled against the people who she took for her parents without ever really giving them an answer to their questions.
After years of gathering money to be able to pay for her 18th birthday party, Hayley was finally able to accomplish it; what should’ve been a dream to her, quickly turned into a nightmare when the she drunkenly pushed one of her guests overboard during her party. When it all couldn’t seem worse, she started to feel this rage grow inside of her as each second passed by – she was changing. She ran. Her transition took place in her parents' living room – not much left in the place as the night progressed; after wreaking havoc on their house her foster parents kicked her out, leaving Hayley on her own. It was then when she’d decided to search for her birth parents. She was the literal definition of “lone wolf”, taking care of herself and making sure she never stayed in the same place for far too long. Wolf packs didn’t last, either. As she got older, Hayley started making friends among the same species, learning about witches and vampire, and how there were people out there to hunt them. She heard about one town that could help, especially when it came down to Tyler Lockwood, a hybrid who she met and grew particularly fond of in the Appalachian Mountains. He told her all about Mystic Falls and his situation with the “Original” family as Hayley helped him break the sire bond between one of “the old ones” and himself.
After Tyler left to go back to his hometown, Hayley kept on with her path figuring if she didn’t hear back from him it was because he was most likely dead. Months passed by as Hayley kept on helping other hybrids get rid of the sire bond, and searching for her biological parents. It wasn’t until one of Niklaus Mikaelson’s follower told her about Tyler Lockwood who inspired him. She missed her closest friend on the current hybrid pack, not putting aside the fact that she wanted to see with that he was safe. She was decided to go to Mystic Falls despite the many warnings about the Mikaelson’s. Hayley made her way to the small town in Virginia where she met a professor, Shane, who had said to have information on her birth parents; he would share them with her so long as she helped him on his plan to raise Silas. Hayley accepted the terms and made sure her part of the deal would be accomplished – gather twelve unsired hybrids for Shane’s sacrifice. As always, she kept her word and those same twelve were handed to Shane. It got bad. One of the biggest ones being the night that she spent with Niklaus over a drunken mistake; but she could have never seen it coming.
She had a child with Klaus and Hope became the most important person in her life, but she also had a special romantic relationship with Elijah Mikaelson and they are close to each other. After her daughter was born Hayley sent Hope with Rebekah since everyone wanted her daughter dead until they could make New Orleans safe for the child. Though none of that happened since a lot went down after Rebekah came back with Hope. Marcel after Davina death thanks to a sacrifice made my Freya and Elijah not only pointed Kol, Elijah, but also Rebekah was hexed and Klaus was caught trapped for five years of his life. She finally took her daughter to Mystic Falls where Caroline was knowing that Klaus would trust her to take care of Hope. Hayley took care of Hope with Caroline letting her move Hope with them to Boston where Hope lives a normal life that she wants for her daughter. Though Katherine has cursed Hayley she needs to stay away from her daughter for her own protection. No one but Hayley knows where Hope is.
